The trip is organized through People-to-People, however there are some nights the students are staying with families vs. at some kind of hotel. At those homes, 17-year-old John may find only the Chinese bfast is available. He's an extremely picky eater, liking only pizza (pepperoni only!), Taco Bell, pancakes, bacon and fried egg sandwiches, but at least he's finally getting used to eating rice!

Here - this is what Chinese eat for breakfast!
http://steamykitchen.wordpress.com/2007/04/11/weird-food/
Ok, just totally kidding!

Is he going on an organized tour? Usually if its a tour, they will have a choice of western bfast or chinese bfast which is usually breads, pastries, rice congee (porridge) with bits of meat, vegetables, preserved vegetables - see http://nookandpantry.blogspot.com/2007/05/century-egg-congee.html

We also have this:

Ah, so you did notice ... :-D

BTW, OT & FYI just a bit ... under "Blogs I Read", the pic for the Chef's Blog Directory doesn't show up here.

And now, more on-topic ... what do Asian folks have for breakfast?? My stepson is spending 17 days in China in July, and I have no clue what he might find in front of him first thing in the mornings.
