There aren’t very many kitchen gadgety-doo-da’s that impress both Cheri and me. But let me just get this out upfront. We both were speechless when the chips came out of the microwave – super crispy and crunchy. WHAT???? A microwave does this?? Yup. It did. With no oil.

Hello, not sure if you are still checking these comments. I just got one of these and tried making Zucchini chips. I sliced them thin on the mandolin and put them in the microwave. They came out dark brown burn stripes and were crispy in the burnt part and soggy/limp/still moist in the unburnt parts. did I do something wrong?
I just tried mine for the first time & I am impressed. I find the need to reduce the cooking time by a few seconds as a few chips were over browned so for me cook time will be about 2mins 50sec. I had bought the kit, brand new & unopened in a thrift store & wasn’t expecting much but I was very pleasantly surprised. Makes great, crispy chips.
I’ve made potato chips with mine a couple times. You have to experiment with the time. I went 30 seconds longer than the recommended time and they came out perfect. Now I’m gonna try zucchini since we have so much growing right now. Anyone have seasoning suggestions?

i’ve always just assumed these things were a scam! even when we sold them at sur la table i wouldn’t use my discount to buy them! now i’m sad 🙁 i love potato chips!!
I guess any vegetable the approximate texture of a potato would work- I’m thinking beet, parsnip, carrot, yam, turnip, etc.

Long ago there was another type of potato chip maker microwave. Place side way the potatos and microwave. Not very good. Now this one I am not sure also. But still like the ideal . Wonder good with sweet potatos?
