Giveaway: Super-Fast Thermapen and ChefAlarm by ThermoWorks
Disclaimer: Products are provided to Steamy Kitchen for a thorough, honest review. We do not receive payment for reviews. Each review takes 5-10 hours of hands-on testing, writing and editing.
I first heard about ThermoWorks Thermapen from Alton Brown loooong time ago. It’s one of his most important tools — and it’s become one of mine! I bought the Thermapen and also purchased 3 more as holiday presents for family. I got my 2nd Thermapen for Mother’s Day this year from my kids — perhaps they felt guilty that they put my beloved Thermapen in the DISHWASHER!!!!! LOL! I haven’t yet tried the ChefAlarm yet – I’ll be doing a video review on this product shortly. In the meantime, enter to win one of my all-time favorite kitchen gadgets! ~Jaden
About the Super-Fast Thermapen and ChefAlarm
The Super-Fast Thermapen is a professional tool (originally designed for commercial kitchens, labs and manufacturing plants) that has become the top consumer cooking thermometer for home use. Its popularity among celebrity chefs, cooking magazines, top foodies, bloggers and competition BBQ teams has made the Thermapen into an essential tool in the best-equipped home kitchens.
The Thermapen’s speed and accuracy will reveal more about food and cooking techniques than you ever imagined. They can be used for virtually anything that needs to be cooked or chilled. Use it on meats, fish, casseroles, re-heated foods, breads, cakes, deep frying and candy. You don’t have to have a Thermapen to be a great cook; however, more than one celebrity chef and several food writers have testified that a Thermapen will make you a better cook.
Designed for commercial use, the ChefAlarm delivers features not found in “houseware” cooking alarms. Continuous Min/Max display tells you how hot (or cold) your food got when you weren’t looking. A “High Alarm” sounds when your food reaches your setting, and a first-of-its-kind “Low Alarm” is perfect for making yogurt and other cold dishes. Adjustable alarm volume can be heard in a noisy restaurant kitchen. The main temperature digits are big and easy-to-see from a distance. Touch the backlight button to read the display in the dark. New from the factory the ChefAlarm reads within ±2°F so you should never need a calibration adjustment but the CAL feature can be used for fine-tuning your accuracy to better than ±1°F. Fold the ChefAlarm flat and use the magnetic back on a metal surface or tilt the display up and use it on a counter.
