My favorite comfort food is a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. When I lived in Taiwan I could find American Cheese and cans of cans of tomato soup at the President store and when I was a little homesick I would make this for lunch.

My ultimate comfort food is my mom's oxtail beef stew. It never tastes the same because she changes up the recipe everytime she makes it based on what she feels like adding. If she wants a more asian flavor, it's soy sauce based. If not, it's more tomato based. Then with big hunks of oxtail, cooked in her compression cooker until the meat is falling off the bone....it's so good over rice or thin asian noodles. I would love to win your cookbook! I've been meaning to buy it at the bookstore...but in true asian fasion, why buy it when you could get it for free! =D
