Dear Jaden,

I love this article because I love shopping.

My friend bought a see-through flowering teapot but it has a base that holds candle to heat the teapot.

All my weight has moved toward gravity as I aged. Having 3 children does not help either. If my husband gives me the last gift, I will need to put on some weight first, especially around my shoulders.

So, what did your husband end up buying for Mother's Day?

Hey Heidi- I still keep my Oxo mandoline just for the julienne function. Your right - I wish it had that blade! I have a similar scar from a little accident 8 months ago on the tops of my fingers from the Oxo.

The Pampered Chef mandoline looks sweet and partcularly safe, but I'm disappointed that there isn't a julienne blade included. I love doing fine crunchy shreds of apple, pear or chayote on my Bernriner, but oh, you should see the nice crescent scar on my palm resulting from a stubborn sweet potato on the slicing blade.

JMW- I don't have the bowls or the spoons yet (thats why they are on my wish list) BUT...I know that there were some initial problems with them and the manufacturer is replacing the products.

Read this:

I have the Pourfect bowls and measuring spoons. Have you noticed that the spoons measurement markings wash off? I have tried to contact the company and they say they are not responsible. I wrote Randy Kass a letter, but have not received an answer, also emailed him - no answer. I also think the bowls should have colored markings as it is difficult to read. I love, love, love the bowls, but as I stated, the measures are hard to read.

Fabulous wish list. Great looking organic shaped objects are my thing lately. So the VivaTerra Veggie Parchment Bowls and Smoky Root of the Earth Bowls are my favorite items on your list.

For garlic, the Garlic Crusher designed by Ineke Hans that is available at MoMA store in great. When done, simple wash you hands with it to remove garlic aroma from you hands by rinsing. And it is dishwasher safe.

I will borrow your idea of the Outlook SANS 2.0 for my upcoming birthday. Thanks for the tip.
