Beautiful Mae from Rice and Noodles tagged me on this meme. 1. Knitting isn’t just for little old ladies – I can knit. Its therapeutic for me – something very soothing in the clickity-clack rhythm of stitches and feel of smooth, warming bamboo knitting sticks. I love making things by hand, creating heirlooms that will be passed down from generation to generation. Its also kind of like legacy insurance. Just in case I flop in everything else, “at least that crazy Grandma Jaden left a nice sweater for you!”
(i bribed him with cookies to smile like he really likes his new sweater)
2. After having 2 kids only 16 months apart, I sorta lost a bunch of brain cells. So, I bought a bottle of Focus Factor, which according to the infomercials, is supposed to help with your memory loss.
Two months later, no change. Apparently, the makers of Focus Factor didn’t take into account that people with memory loss might not remember to take the stupid pills every day. I wasted $30.
3. I thought I was so cool in the 80’s. That spiky hair full of AquaNet, dorky sunglasses, Madonna bracelets, lace socks, frosted pink lipstick, even pegged pants.
Don’t laugh. You know you have the same picture hiding in the back of your closet.
4. My husband and I: got married went on honeymoon sold a house bought a house moved cross country started a business got pregnant all in a period of 2 months. wtf were we thinking?!! oh yeah, we weren’t….
5. I dip my McDonalds french fries in soft serve ice cream. I tag some of my new friends: Passionate Eater Ady from Diario di una passione Rasa Malaysia Amy from Nook & Pantry Guy J Piegirl

I do that french fries – ice cream thing too!! It’s a good mix of hot and cold. Like eating fried bananas with ice cream.
Hehehe, love the 80’s pic
I wasn’t old enough for spikey hair then, but I do have pictures with those awful jodphurs and possibly the biggest perm of all time! And that list of all you and your hubby accomplished in the space of 2 months leaves me gobsmacked – WOAH! You must be very good at time management
Ok Jaden, let’s go I’m ready
1. I have studied Chinese at The Oriental University istitute of Naples, but I left the studies to married my husband, now I have forget all, it’s a pity, but I say that now!!!!!
2.In 80th like as you jaden I have hair crew- cut, I looked like a boy.
3.My biggest wish is visit Paris, maybe this year in August…..
4. I have scared very very much that the time goes by…..in August I will be 40 years old……
5. Another big wish is to be thinner but when i start a diet i fell like in a prison so I become thinner just a little then i stop diet…..I like very much to cook and i am greedy.
Thanks Jaden I hope you liked it. Bye
Jaden I ‘ve decided to write on your blog because, in Italy the foodblogger have just made that, sorry I hope you are agree.
Oooops! I love to see your pics from the 80s. Reminds me of my mom and dad!
Ady- I think everyone had the crew cut at one point. Why did we think that it was sexy to look like an ugly feminine boy?
Anh- I’m so glad that I’m old enough to remind you of your parents!! you better be like 8 years old or something. (ha!)
Oh, i don’t know about the word ‘beautiful’ but thanks! Now my face is red hot!
I enjoyed reading your 5 things. Thanks for being such a sport.
Is that your son? He looks so much like you! Beautiful smile.
I vaguely remember the 80s style… it’s funny that we always look back in the past photos and think ‘oh my gawd! did i really?’ hehe. Like you said, everyone did it too!
Shame that the Focus Factor pills didn’t work – i could have used some too. But then, like you, i would probably forget to take it too! *laughs*
On no. 4… WOW!
I don’t have the same 80’s picture in my closet, but I’ll admit mine’s close.
Thanks for sharing a bit of you with a new reader here.
Aw thanks for tagging me Jaden! I love memes, they’re so much fun! I hope I can think of some interesting tidbits to share. ;D I secretly want to learn how to knit too.
Jaden, thanks for alerting me about the tag! I would be embarrassed if I’d “ignored” it. This is the first time I’ve been blog-tagged, so I’m flattered.
Working on my 5 things for my next post…
Oh! You’re so fast! I’m still working hard on my answers for this meme… I’m such a procrastinator! I shall use work an excuse again! Hehe.
I used to dip my fries in ice cream too! That is until I realised there were much better fries around than McDonald’s.
It’s my first time over here at your site and it’s beautiful! Love the simple layout and the gorgeous pictures.
Mae-yes, that is my oldest, he’s 3 1/2 years of pure adrenaline.
Dolores- you’ll have to share your 80’s pic! does it involve BIG HAIR?
Amy- knitting is a great way to fill up all the spare time you don’t have!
Piegirl – I can’t believe you’ve been to those many countries!
Evinrude- well, i really do like McD fries. I make my own and if I ever get a soft serve ice cream machine, i’d dip them too!
Jaden, thank you so much for your tag and for thinking of me! I too already did a “Five Things Meme” in the past, but mine was REALLY bad! http://passionateeater.blogspot.com/2007/02/killing-two-memes-with-one-post.html I think I ran out of good ideas because of answering this meme:
http://passionateeater.blogspot.com/2006/01/okay-waaay-too-much-information.html
Also, I don’t have a picture like that from the 80s, mine is not that nice-looking! I had the socks (over the pants), the stir-ups, the ponytail on the side of my head, the hairsprayed bangs, the perm, and the bangles and big, tucked in t-shirt!
1. your son is cute, my mom used to bribe me with Cheetos to smile for pictures
2. My mom had te same problem with the focus factor. Hello! If you have memory problems, you’re not going to remember to take the pills!
3. My mom has the same picture, except her hair was bright red and really big and frizzy (think Fran Fine)
4. eek, no answer
5. I like to eat chocolate cake with soy sauce *mmm*
I bet your son’s gonna steal losa hearts hehe, adorable, and the mommy..wow, so punk rock ! Reminds me of those big pinky hoop ear rings too, I shared that same hair style when I was err..14/15 I think.
I didn’t have the spiky hair but I did have the long, permed big 80’s hair-metal-chick hair full of aquanet. But I did once shave the hair on one side of my head. Plus I totally rocked the black eyeliner and the white lipstick that had a little pink tint to it.
And my husband totally taught me the fries in the soft-serve trick.
Dear Jaden,
I am not that surprised that you can knit. What I am surprised is where do you find the time.
The punk hair girl looks like a Hong Kong movie star.
Dip Mcdonald French Fries in ice cream. I do that too. Salt and sugar goes well together and that is why I often go back and forth between the entrees and desserts at buffets.
Knitwit.
(well, someone had to say i!)
I soooo had the spiked hair thing going on.
You knit, you cook, you’re a mother, and you have awesome fashion sense. Wow, is there anything you can’t do?
Lynn- laundry and dishes
