Espresso con Panna

Espresso con Panna

My 3:00pm caffeine fix: Espresso with a dollop of whipped creme - Espresso con Panna! My routine is even more special with my brand new Bodum Pavina Double Walled Glass. Those are 5 beautiful words which means, "Expensive, breakable, don’t drop me" Just kidding - they weren’t that expensive, about $7 each. They are hand-blown and simply gorgeous. I love using them because a shot of espresso is so teeny tiny and I feel like I really need to savor every little sip. The set I have is the 5oz "tea glass" since I like to leave room for lots and lots of cream! If you love coffee - have some Tiramisu

mmmm.. I think I’ll have to have one tomorrow as well.

Is that a Bodum Pavina glass? They’re beautiful, but I’m afraid my family will break them.

Also, have you tried an Aeropress? Awesome and cheap alternative if a quality espresso machine & grinder or counter space is not available.

  2. SteamyKitchen Says:

Hi Michael - yes, it is a Bodum Pavina glass - very delicate - and my kids know not to touch or I’ll give them a nasty wedgie! :-)
2 come in a pack, I got it from http://www.laprimashops.com. Lets see how well I do with 2 of them!

I also use the Aeropress - I LOVE IT! Either I use my beautiful Nespresso espresso machine (this shot) or the sturdy Aeropress (when I want an Americano). I’ll have to blog about this on my next post on http://www.Wellfed.net. Thanks for visiting!

Gorgeous shot. And my little caffeine-addicted heart is jumping up and down. Do you sweeten the whipped cream?

  4. SteamyKitchen Says:

Cameron -I used whipped cream in a can, which is sweetened. I always keep a can in the fridge - for moments like these when I want my caffeine craving satisfied immediately!

Mmmmm.. that looks delicious… now you made my caffeine craving kick in :-) Beautiful glass by the way.. nothing like having an expresso with class.

Vince- the glass made all the difference….before glass (a time I fondly call B.G.) it was just a pickmeup. Now, its a ritual.
