It’s been a long time since I’ve done a giveaway….and it’s about time that I change that!
When I first bought my iPad, I envisioned being able to travel without my laptop and instead carry the iPad tucked in my purse. Great idea, except I suck at typing on touch screens. I thought it was my Fat Bastard fingers, but realized that for me, typing is a tactile thing. I love the instant spring-back of keys and being able to feel where each key is.
Traveling with just my iPad, I became the master of efficient abbreviation. So much so that ppl cdnt undstd wt the heck I say’n.
So I ended up schleppin’ both my iPad and laptop with me during travels so at least I could sound sober in my blog and emails (forget Twitter, I always sound a little wacky with only 140 characters to express my thoughts)
A few weeks ago, my friend, James Andrews, was raving about his brand new tyPad bluetooth keyboard for his iPad (all these uPperLoWercaSe tRadEmarK stuff is making my head spin!) and I had to buy one. In fact, I think we were in line for Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney World when I saw his tweet and bought mine just as we were getting on the ride.

Had to get an iPad for my wife as she always was using mine. Now we are a happier couple and can twitter and chat thru our home network while on different floors. She is a touch typist and is have a harder time than I am. Giveaway is great. How is the garden project comming?

I just read a review of the tyPad a couple days ago on cnet’s iPhone Atlas. This looks like a cool accessory for an iPad, both a protector and a keypad. And it’s leather, too! I loved your kale/cauliflower salad. It was surprisingly yummy. My daughter and husband enjoyed it too.
The tablets are great because they use flash memory instead of a hard drive, thereby making them more rugged while still allowing the downloading of info into a big home disk drive or onto the cloud. I hope I win!

I always found it quite difficult to type on effectively so I would poke and prod at the screen for minutes before turning to my laptop. This would be so useful! =)

The iPad is on my Christmas wish list, so I’m crossing my fingers that I may score both before 2011 rolls around! I really loved your post quite a while ago (that I recently found) about making the no-knead bread with your son. I’m looking forward to doing the same thing with my child when he’s a wee bit older.
