If ground beef is frozen, allow it to defrost in the fridge overnight.
Take the ground beef out of the packaging and place it in a microwave safe bowl or container.
Cover the plate with a microwave safe lid and microwave at 50% power for five minutes.
Remove the meat from the microwave and use a spatula or fork to break it up.
Put it back in the microwave and continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes at 50% power.
Remove from the microwave and stir again. Continue cooking in 1-2 minute intervals, stirring in between, until there is no more pink left.
