I hope you’re staying healthy and safe. We legit ran out of toilet paper a few days ago – and I have never, ever panicked about something so silly as TP, but on Monday – I was a tiger-mama on the hunt for stuff to wipe butts with.
Two Costcos, Sams Club, two Walmarts and a CVS. Nothing!
I was just about to go through my neighbor’s recycling bin for newspapers (hey, desperate times call for desperate measures), when my neighbor said that they’d spot me a pack. Now I owe them a pack of TP. Think of that! TP as currency!
As a joke, I was going to put up a giveaway featuring a pallet of toilet paper. I bet it would be popular!
What I’m stocking up on
1. Elderberry gummies: Black elderberry extract is good for your immune system. I get gummies because I know my kids will eat ’em. Personally, I like the Elderberry syrup better. It seems that the Elderberry syrup shortens my sick time.
2. Zinc lozenges: A letter by a noted pathologist, James Robb, went viral last week. He recommended zinc lozenges as a way to fight some of the symptoms of coronavirus. I did my research – James Robb is real, and he did write that letter (interesting read!) While I’m totally skeptical about zinc being a “silver bullet” – I already regularly use zinc lozenges at the onset of flu/cold symptoms. I say it never hurts to have some on hand.
3. Something I’ll be experimenting with: a water ionizer machine at home. Have you tried ionized water? It’s the cleanest, best tasting water I’ve ever had. This machine can make water with 2.5pH (acidic water as disinfectant/cleaning) all the way to 11.5pH (highly alkaline water for washing fruits/veg). 9.5pH is for drinking. The machine is expensive…I’ll try it for the next few weeks and let you know if it’s worth the money or not. I’m skeptical of so many of the health claims…and I need to do more research and test it out myself. I’d love to hear from you if you’ve tried alkaline or ionized water!
