How to be More Eco-Conscious at Home
1. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Reduce, reuse and recycle! Set up a paper bag or buy a recycling bin to place in the kitchen to make sure you recycle all plastics that you use. Other items that can be recycled are: aluminum foil, the stack of junk mail that’s been sitting on the counter and any empty glass jars.
2. Chemical Free Cleaners
Don’t send chemicals into our waterways! You can use non-toxic cleaners around the house and in the kitchen to ensure that chemicals are not being send into our water. Overtime, chemicals can build up and make it difficult to treat and purify our water. Non-toxic cleaning products tend to also be cruelty free!
3. Volunteer
Volunteer to help clean up our planet! Other volunteer opportunities may include building a garden, planting trees, or protecting public lands (because they are absolutely beautiful!). For our animal lovers out there, you could look for opportunities to volunteer and an animal rehabilitation center!
4. Plant a Tree
Plant a tree! You can never go wrong with this option, they clean the air and help reduce climate change. Trees also provide food for wildlife and oxygen for us.
5. Educate Yourself
Start learning about all of the different ways you can help the Earth here so that you can help educate other people. It great to be environmentally conscious in your house, but it makes an even greater impact if you can be environmentally conscious all the time! So get to reading or watch a YouTube video and help spread the word about helping out our Earth.
