Rice Krispie Treats Flavor Variations

Use any cereal you like! This recipe will work with whatever cereal you already have on hand, we even tried it with old school lucky charms!

Mix in sprinkles, chocolate chips, peanut butter cups, and really any other small candies that you like. This will give your Krispie treats an extra sweet bite.

Drizzle chocolate, caramel, or Nutella on top of your Rice Krispie treats. You can also use a spatula to spread frosting and any nutter butter you like! My guilty pleasure is spreading more marshmallow fluff on top – just the best!

Faqs

How Long will Microwave Rice Krispie Treats Last?

These are best if eaten right away, but if you make a larger batch, they can be wrapped with plastic wrap for about an hour. After an hour, they start to harden. This is definitely a treat that should be enjoyed as soon as it comes out of the microwave, fresh and warm.

Can I Make a Full Batch in the Microwave?

Yes you can! Use a 9×13″ microwave safe casserole dish, 1/2 cup butter, 1 bag of mini marshmallows, and 8-9 cups of cereal (depending on how gooey you like your treats).
Please the butter and marshmallows in the microwave safe dish, melt them in the microwave for about 1 minute or until the marshmallows puff up. Stir in the cereal and flatten to fit in your casserole dish.
