Microwave Scrambled Eggs Flavor Variations and Mix-ins

  • For a bit of extra flavor, go simple with black pepper before cooking or finish with hot sauce.
  • Add a spoonful of grated cheddar cheese while scrambling! Top with crumbled, cooked bacon.
  • I love substituting creme fraiche (French cream) for the liquid! Creme fraiche is thick, creamy, and has just the slightest tang. Add a spoonful in place of the milk.
  • Add a tablespoon of chopped ham or turkey while scrambling the eggs. Even cooked breakfast sausage would be fabulous!
  • Leftover cooked vegetables from the night before or fresh herbs would be an awesome mix-in for a one-mug omelet vibe. Just chop them up into smaller bite sized pieces.

  3. Tried slight variation on this recipe and yielded favorable results. I happen to prefer my scrambled eggs on the creamier side. So, instead of 20 second increments I used 30 seconds as my mark.

I first oiled a bowl lightly with evoo then added 3 jumbo eggs, added a splash of evoo for flavor then seasoned them with pepper and parsley. I beat these thoroughly then put in microwave for first 30 second cook time.

I then stirred them through after first go round, then twice more until eggs were cooked as desired. Removed eggs and served on paper plate.
