Steamy Kitchen Store Launch
It’s been a lot of work, but we’re excited, very excited to launch our very own online store filled with some of my fav kitchen gadgets, appliances, knives and doodads!
Our partner, Cooking.com is simply amazing. Last summer, the very lovely Lisa Stone, CEO of BlogHer introduced me to the Cooking team, as a possible partner to create some fun projects together. I took a quick trip to Los Angeles to meet them and I just have to say that the partnership was just a natural fit.
Not only are we launching this store, but we’ve got an even bigger project in the works (one that makes me want to do a boogie-woogie on my desk every time I think about it). I’ll reveal that one a little later. Hey, one project launch at a time, right?!

About the store
We didn’t just slap a logo on Cooking’s site….it took nearly 4 months of design, development and testing to launch the Steamy Kitchen Store.
We created a custom store with handpicked items “Jaden’s Favs” and stocked the Steamy Kitchen store with some of Cooking’s best sellers and high-rated products. I’ll be recording a bunch of video reviews of some of my favorite products and moving forward, recipes will be tied in with products that I use or love.
The project is a little experiment – I think this is the first fully customized online store in the food blogging world – a big step beyond the Amazon store that I used to have. It will be fun to see how the store will evolve and grow. I’ll keep you guys in the loop. I’d love to see more blogs embed custom shopping experiences!

My fav is a tossup between the kitchenaid stand mixer and the vitamix blender. As a gluten and corn-free girl, I bake most of my own breads so the mixer would really help. The vitamix blender also grinds alternative flours well, decreasing their high cost, so it’s equally beneficial to me!
My dream is to have a mixer of this quality.
I love the Rival FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer the best. I would LOVE to win this blender. The one I’m using is an Oster I’ve had for over 20 years! LOL! It still works great but I sure would like an upgrade. Thanks.
Definitely the Vitamix blender. My cuisinart died tonight which make me very sad as we like to have smoothies a couple of days a week. The $600 price tag is not at all appealing but it sounds like it does amazing things.

The Le Crueset stoneware batter bowl is a very ice and usefull item. I have a few Le Creuset items and I just love them.
I love my kitchenaid mixer, wish I had more kitchenaid products, they seam to hold up good.
My favorite item is actually the fruit infuser pitcher, it’s quite stylish and can also be used without the infuser. The infuser could also hold ice cubes, but I’d be super interested in making special iced teas. Great product!

I love the Lodge cast iron products – I have the Dutch oven for baking no-knead bread (makes it perfect every time!) and the large and small cast iron skillets for all-purpose sauteeing. They aren’t fancy, but great for the job! As for ingredients, my favorite is Nielsen Massey vanilla. I bake all the time and I always want to use quality ingredients – makes such a difference!

I can tell you what may favorite product its because I have it already and really love it. It’s the 8inch Global Chef’s Knife. Absolutely the best knife I’ve ever owned. Got it three years ago on a chef’s advice. Can’t recommend it enough! I notice Giada uses it on her show a lot.

Easily the profit plus wok strainer. I know this isn’t the most glamorous item, but it is an easy way to fish hot items out of ridiculously hot oil, and makes me that much better of a deep fryer!

As a devoted and passionate grilling entusiast, I was immediately smitten with the backyard grilling section. More specifically, the Galvanized Drink Bucket struck me as being the perfect culinary companion for a backyard griller. Nothing like a cold drink to help get you through food prep. right? I’m sure it works well when actually entertaining guests as well!

Any knife that is labelled “Global” is the knife for me! Over-the-top quality and a dream to cut, slice and dice with.
I like the accessory attachment pack by KitchenAid! That would go real well with the KitchenAid Mixer. All I have is a hand held mixer and it sure would be nice to have one you don’t have to stand there and hold. I love the red color, goes well with my kitchen!

The small glass storage pitcher by Bormioli. I saw one at a garage sale last month and went running for it, but I was beat to it by a little old lady… rats! It was only a buck!!!
I had a hard time picking what I like best. I like the convection bread maker by Cuisinart. It makes me think of having fresh bread without all the hassel!
But, I’ve been daydreaming of having my own KitchenAid stand mixer. I keep on dropping hints to my boyfriend hoping he’ll pick them up (my birthday is in June). You have so many wonderful colors in your store! The pistachio is so cute!
I like the Home Bakery Mini Breadmaker (1-lb.) by Zojirushi – I’ve wanted a mini breadmaker for a while. I’m a little sticker-shocked by the price (much more than a full sized breadmaker) but it does lots of other things like makes jam which would go great with that little loaf of bread. There are lots of things here that I like but this one is currently at the top of my list!
Silpat Baking Sheet Liner, will pay for itself with the money saved using it instead of buying parchment paper.

But I also have a serious love for the Hamilton Beach Percolator- I’ve been searching for a Percolator for a while now! My mother owned a percolator and drip coffee just won’t do for me anymore! I find that perc’d coffee just tastes so much richer and fuller-bodied. mmmmm
