Ingredients

  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • 3 tbsp of water
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional)
  • Salt & pepper (optional)

How to Steam Cauliflower in the Microwave – Step by Step

  1. Cut up cauliflower into bite sized pieces
  2. Place cauliflower and water into a microwave safe bowl
  3. Cover bowl with plate
  4. Microwave on high for 4-5 minutes
  5. Test to see if the cauliflower is done, keep cooking in 1 minute intervals until done. If steaming for mashing, it may take up to 10 minutes.
  6. Drain
  7. Transfer to a serving dish, top with butter, sprinkle with salt and pepper and enjoy!

Flavor-Blast the Cauliflower

  • Toss your steamed cauliflower florets in butter or olive oil, lemon juice, and Italian seasoning.
  • Sprinkle freshly grated cheddar cheese onto your steamed cauliflower, pop it back in the microwave for about 15 seconds and enjoy!
