Here is your reminder to go drink a big glass of water, take a deep breath of fresh air and remind yourself of how incredible you are!
It was on my heart today to share a brief reminder to us all to remember who we are and all of the great things (big and small) that we do on a daily basis.
We’ve been sharing some tips for gratitude this month over on our Facebook page, which I hope you are enjoying them! Gratitude for me is one of the most important things to come back to, especially when I find myself becoming disconnected!
If you have been feeling a bit disconnected lately, I wanted to share some prompts for you to check in with yourself this week:
Self Check-In Prompts:
- How am I feeling today?
- What can I celebrate today?
- What can I do today that will bring me joy?
- How can I make sure that I feel supported today?
Simple questions like these help me to ground back down and check in and help shift my day in a positive way – no matter how small the shift might be.
Give these prompts a try this week if you feel called to!
Now for a free gift for you!

Jaden’s Weekly Tip:
Here is how to peel a whole head of garlic in a minute! Use your palm to press down the garlic bulb, separating the cloves from the base. Place the unpeeled cloves in a glass bowl with a lid or plate covering.
Shake the bowl vigorously and watch as the peels separate from the cloves! Within seconds you will have peeled garlic!
What is your favorite way to peel or use garlic? Let us know on our SK Facebook Page!
We all sure have our sob stories about how hard life is sometimes, in fact life is like that far too often. I’ve got plenty of my own! But, unfortunately that just isn’t the way contests are won. They’re won just by the luck of the draw. I’ve entered Steamy Kitchen Contests daily for years now & never won a thing. But I keep trying simply because if I don’t enter them, I sure as heck won’t win. Publicizing my Wish List & Somebody taking pity on me just isn’t going to do it & it would be nice if it was just that easy. It’s a matter if Lady Luck will smile on me one of these days — you just never know — but that is just what life is all about, choices, chances & exciting surprises & opportunities just around the corner, new days & new beginnings.
i spend my time entering contests for myself for people i love or to give to a local charity for a good cause. steamy kitchen is one of my favorite contest sites. as a person living on a fixed income, contests like jaden’s are the only way to have or give something nice that is not within my budget this time of year is especially important to ppl like me when its the holidays and we are broke as we are every month. my computer is from 2000 so i lag out and get bogged up every time i come to steamy kitchen because there is so much excitement and good will going on . i need a new computer or a decent used one to keep up my only hobby that my income affords me. which is to enter contests for myself for loved ones or for a local charity .
this gives me so much joy. i just won a young persons spy kit i know the young fellow who will get it for Christmas. it was worth every bit of the money i had to pay out for batteries. just writing this entry has caused me to lag out and restart the page a few times already . if not for me but for the ppl i help i need a good used or relatively new system to be online doing my daily hobby.
as a shut in with disabilities it is important to have some sort of hobby to keep me from going insane with outright boredom. especially during the long dark months of winter ahead that we all must endure. perhaps winning a monetary prize or something would afford me that opportunity. i enter for laptops here as well but those aren’t for me they are for my son who lost everything in a fire on December 23rd at 3 am . he got out with only one boot one shoe and his boxers. he lost everything including his gifts for everyone and had nothing but the boot shoe and boxers on his back. he had to restart from bare minimum and hes still struggling to get back to where he was.
i pray and hope for all the ppl who have a real needs in this world will be chosen from fate to win what they need to they have found a way forward to get what they need by kindness charity and goodwill or good fortune . that’s what the holidays are all about right? let me tell you it feels great to give and support our communities all year round. but this time of year its most important to help those in need. if you can do even one small thing for your community and for your neighbors then do it now. why wait to do a good deed when we have opportunities all year round.
if you have a good life or a good day, be kind to someone else today. nobody knows the hardships in other ppl’s live. they might just need that one smile they get from you that day. be kind and do good things whenever you see a chance grab it cuz it feels so light airy and uplifting to help uplift someone else. helping others is always the best way for YOU to feel better right now. if you haven’t done a good deed before dont be scared, a wise person once said” lighting someone elses candle takes nothing away from your flame. think of that and do something nice for a stranger or a loved one today. peace good wil and good luck to all. have a safe happy holiday and a healthy prosperous new year!
