Simple Living Products Air Fryer Review

We tested the air fryer over 5 different recipes (I’ll show you two here).

PRO: We’ve tested over 6 different air fryers here at Steamy Kitchen. What I love about the Simple Living Products’s unit is that it comes with many accessories, including a rack, a roasting pan and a shallower “cake” pan. With other brands, these pans would have been an extra purchase. I spent almost $40 purchasing a rack for my Philips Air Fryer!

Why a rack is essential: The designs of all air fryers on the market are pretty similar. The basket is deep and square-ish, and food has to be put into the basket in a single layer, so that it gets even air flow. To maximize the amount of food you can cook at once, you really need a rack, to double the space.

CON: This basket release button sticks a little.

PRO: The basket is LARGE! It can hold a large chicken. The basket is non-stick, so clean-up is simple. You can even throw the basket in the dishwasher.

Nice safety feature – the unit won’t turn on unless the basket is in place and ready to go.

CON: Touch screen is nice, but the minimalistic design actually is even more confusing. Which +/- is for time and which is for temperature? I kept forgetting and had to constantly reset.

We made little chicken fingers. Dipped strips of chicken breast into 1) flour 2) egg 3) panko. We used the rack to get another layer of chicken fingers.

Just a quick spray of cooking oil.

Halfway done:

And now completely done:

They were crispy, light, NOT GREASY at all!

Then we made shrimp tempura. These were purchased frozen, half-cooked. Normally, I would have to deep-fry these in 3″ of cooking oil. I hate deep frying, because it stinks up my house, and I have to find a way to discard the spent oil.

In the Simple Living Air Fryer, we sprayed with cooking oil. Halfway done:

Perfectly cooked, even better tasting than deep-frying, without the mess, without the stink and without the calories of oil.

You can purchase the Simple Living Products Air Fryer on Amazon for $149.99. There are 61 reviews on Amazon, and the average rating is 4.4 out of 5. It’s one of the highest rated air fryers on the market and after testing the unit, I highly recommend it for families. The large capacity means you can cook enough for a family of 4 in one batch. The included accessories are a big bonus!
