Tips for Making Perfect garlic Shrimp in the Microwave

Be careful when pulling your dish from the microwave, it will be incredibly hot. Allow it to sit and cool in the microwave for one minute after it is finished cooking.

If you want to make this a meal for yourself and not cook an entire pound of shrimp, then cook half of a pound for just 2 minutes. Remove to stir halfway through. Since it is a smaller quantity, just be sure to keep an eye on the shrimp as it will cook quicker. Overcooked shrimp is not delicious.

Faqs

How do I know if my Shrimp are Good or Bad?

Your sense of smell is your best tool in detecting signs of bad shrimp. Fresh shrimp should give off a slightly salty odor, if any odor at all. Shrimp that is overwhelmingly fishy are likely past their prime. Don’t risk tasting it if you are getting a strong odor from your shrimp.

How can I tell if my Shrimp are cooked all the way through?

You will be able to tell by the color. Raw shrimp is grayish-white when raw, and when cooked becomes pink with reddish accents. Once the opaqueness is gone, you will know your shrimp is ready.

If you are still unsure, check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. 120F is the perfect temperature for cooked shrimp.
