Delicacies Jewelry Review

This is a review of Delicacies Jewelry, including a giveaway at the end.

Foodie jewelry with purpose

Delicacies is a line of foodie-inspired jewelry, created by Nicolle Nelson. This is truly jewelry with purpose…not only do a portion of proceeds go to a charity for fighting hunger, but each featured jeweled ingredient actually has meaning.

Founder Nicolle says, “I love the idea of ingredients as pretty, wearable tokens that bring us home, in an instant, wherever we need to be. Delicacies is about finding your center, with food as your guide. It’s about honoring and respecting simple ingredients, and recognizing a bit of ourselves in them. We are food lovers, story tellers, knowledge gatherers on a long journey.”

Why I chose Lobster

We’ve been through some bumpy times this year, our 12-year old son, Nathan, has been having chronic headaches since a fall during a hiking trip with the Boy Scouts. Since last November, we’ve seen pediatric neurologists, massage therapists, chiropractors, osteopathic doctors, physical therapists, endocrinologist….have had multiple blood tests, x-rays and MRIs. Luckily, we found a doctor who specializes in pediatric headaches, and Nathan is doing so much better now.

That being said, we love the meaning of the lobster:

“The lobster molts. It sheds its exterior and lives through a period of vulnerability while the new shell develops and hardens, providing protection. An ancient, long-lived creature of the sea bottom, the lobster teaches us fluidity, with its connection to deep, primeval elements of the sea and the cyclic nature of life: the moon, the water, the tides. Contemplate your personal past, look inward, be vulnerable. Is there something negative you’re holding onto that you could let go? Invoking the lobster brings strength in weakened times. The lobster is tenacious and present, clinging to what is crucial and sloughing off what no longer applies. And when all else fails? Pop the champagne, tie on your bib and dip its sweet meat in warm lemon butter.”
