We’re big fans of Gourmesso, the Nespresso-compatible coffee capsules! I had the chance to chat with CEO Daniel Buelhoff last week about Gourmesso and other business ventures that he’s exploring. Daniel was fun to chat with, so full of energy and enthusiasm for food….and good coffee.
Our Nespresso machine is getting great use – every afternoon, my parents are enjoying their little pick-me-up. I recently switched out their Nespresso capsules for Gourmesso Bolivia Pura Mezzo, which is Fairtrade Certified coffee from Bolivia, and is priced 30% cheaper than Nespresso pods.
It’s the perfect strength (#7) with a beautiful chocolate finish:
Aroma and Flavor Notes
The mild aromatic profile of Arabica coffee beans from this Bolivian region includes subtle fruit and caramel flavors. There is a honey development as the cup cools down. The espresso finishes with hints of chocolate. Due to the roasting process, as well as the choice of Arabica coffee beans, this blend has a light acidity that is not too powerful but adds a balance to the overall espresso. With its subtle overtone of fruits and cocoa, and it’s lightly acidity, the Bolivia Pura Mezzo becomes a bold espresso with a smooth finish. All at a price that’s 30% less than Nespresso®*.
My parents are enjoying the Bolivia Pura Mezzo – and knowing that their coffee is Fairtrade Certified. The Gourmesso pods work perfectly with the Nespresso OriginalLine Machines. – Jaden
Bolivia Pura Mezzo – Fairtrade Nespresso®* Compatible Capsules
The Bolivia Pura Mezzo coffee capsule is made from 100% Arabica beans that have been hand picked in the Bolivian providence of Caranavi. Growing in the rich soil of the Bolivian Andes at an altitude of 6,000 feet, these coffee beans capture the bold essence of their rocky climate. Grown and harvested according to all fair-trade requirements, the Bolivia Pura Mezzo is a certified Fairtrade International blend that we are proud to share with you. This Gourmesso Espresso is perfect for every day drinking, and works well in milk-based drinks.
The Harvesting and Roasting Process
Our coffee beans are sourced from Fairtrade Certified small family coffee farms in Caranavi, the heart of the Bolivian coffee country. The coffee beans undergo a slow and intense roasting process to bring out their strong and charismatic flavor notes and ensure an exquisite crema. After this, the beans are finely ground to the approximate espresso grade.
